Special Information
- This position is a remote position which allows the incumbent to complete their work at a location other than an NAU site, campus, or facility with or without accommodation. The incumbent may occasionally work in a shared site, but primarily will work elsewhere.
- Driving a vehicle on behalf of the university is anticipated to be a regular part of this position. Arizona Administrative Code Fleet Safety Policy requires all employees who drive on university business become authorized by submitting Driver’s license information for driving record monitoring, and completion of training appropriate to the level of driving performed. The law applies to all faculty, staff, and students who drive personal or university-owned motorized vehicles for any business purpose. - Position requires evening work and travel over weekends during heavy recruitment periods (August - November and February - April).

The division of Strategic Enrollment and Marketing (SEM) works to recruit, evaluate, select, enroll and assist a diverse community of undergraduate and graduate students to NAU. The division is responsible for all enrollment functions, research, analytics and operations.

About the Position
The Admissions & Enrollment Services office is a dynamic environment which requires dedicated professionals to engage, excite, and enroll qualified students to Northern Arizona University to help meet enrollment goals. The Student Recruitment Coordinator, Sr. position is intended for seasoned admissions professionals who have managed a territory or territories for at least two years and can provide expertise to new staff and support the Admissions & Enrollment Services Leadership Team in the management of the recruitment and on and off campus events. With a large recruitment staff that manage territories across the country, the Student Recruitment Coordinator, Senior role works collaboratively with other regional based Student Recruitment Coordinator, Sr.’s and staff on campus. This position is required to work evenings and weekends during the busy recruitment seasons (August – November, February – April).
The Phoenix Regional Student Recruitment Coordinator, Sr. will work to apply the university’s recruitment strategies to identify, recruit, and enroll qualified new transfer and first year students across all education delivery modalities (e.g. Flagstaff, Community Campuses, and Online) from the greater Phoenix and Maricopa County, Arizona region. Approximately 90% of the Student Recruitment Coordinator’s time will be spent recruiting traditionally aged freshman students in Maricopa County, and 10% of their time recruiting transfer students and students interested in NAU’s additional education modalities.
Responsibilities Include
Recruitment Oversight and Support – 40%
- Cultivates and manages a large recruitment territory or territories to recruit qualified students to the university for all educational delivery methods.
- Coordinates, implements, and participates in visits to high schools, community colleges, businesses in the community, and other university-sponsored and/or approved recruitment events.
- Stays apprised of, and current on, new enrollment management strategies, and best practices for communication to prospective students, and other important constituents to meet University enrollment goals.
- Stays current on local, regional, and national trends pertaining to area of assignment and recruitment territories.
- Completes weekly reports related to recruitment, enrollment projections, personal schedule, travel, special programs, and professional development.
- Assist with the execution of on-campus visit programs as needed, including but not limited to Discover NAU, Explore Honors Day, Multicultural Recruitment Programs, and other student programs.
- Assist with the execution of off-campus events: Fairs, Tri-University events, student conferences, RMACAC and NACAC Fairs and more.
- Collects and analyzes data to determine the effectiveness of recruitment strategies in their respective recruitment territories. This will include reports through Business Objects, Enterprise Reporting, PeopleSoft, and Salesforce.
Program Strategy and Management – 20%
- Develops, implements, and maintains key Admissions & Enrollment Services programs to help facilitate the recruitment of qualified transfer and first-year students from the Phoenix area. Including collaboration with other Enrollment Management and other university staff including, but not limited to, the Student Service Center, Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, Academic Affairs, Office of College & Business Relationships, and/or other Arizona Board of Regents partners (i.e. sister institutions).
- Interacts and maintains excellent working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and outside/community agencies in facilitating Admissions and Enrollment Services and Enrollment Management program objectives.
- Represents the University, its mission, policies, and procedures to a broad range of constituents, in particular, those in other segments of the education community, prospective students and families, personnel in high schools, community colleges, community-based organizations, businesses, etc.
- Develops and implements programming to meet the needs of prospective students and other constituent groups to the University (i.e. contemporary students/adult learners, honors students, students from ethnically and culturally diverse backgrounds, transfer students, first-generation students, etc.).
- Evaluates program effectiveness, assesses outcomes, and develops improved programming to achieve goals, and completes cost analyses for programs and events.
- Ensures training documents, policies, and territory reports are kept current and easily accessible by staff.
- Provides presentations to a multitude of individuals and groups to communicate the vision, mission, values, and programs of the University.
- Serves as a liaison to academic colleges and departments and collects important information and updates from our academic departments.
- Develops and maintains strong working relationships with academic partners.
Travel – 20%
- Typically, one week of in-person, on-campus training in Flagstaff in July.
- Work on evenings and weekends, including significant nights/weekends between August and November in the fall semester and significant nights/weekends between February and April in the spring semester.
- Some night and weekends work may be needed in other months, as needed.
- Participates in trainings periodically in Flagstaff and throughout the state, as well as via web and/or phone.
Consultation and Communication – 15%
- Collaborates with functional and subject experts within and outside of Admissions and Enrollment Services in the development of training materials and policies and procedures.
- Work closely and collaboratively with high schools, high school counselors, parents, Community Based Organizations, interested students, and their families.
Other – 5%
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
- 3 years of related experience.
- Current and unrestricted Driver’s License needed to attend offsite recruitment events.
*A combination of related education, experience, and training may be used as an equivalent to the above Minimum Qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- A master’s degree with preference given to Student Personnel, Student Affairs, Education, Business, or related field.
- At least one year of progressively responsible administrative and/or supervisory experience (with preference given to directly related Admissions/Enrollment Management experience.

- Knowledge of, or ability to learn, Zoom, SalesForce CRM, PeopleSoft Student Information System, Handshake, Business Objects and Enterprise Reporting tools, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Compensation
Salary range begins at $51,085. Annual salary commensurate with candidate's qualifications and related experience.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire and Security Report
Each year Northern Arizona University releases an Annual Security Report. The report is a result of a federal law known as the Clery Act. The report includes Clery reportable crime statistics for the three most recent completed calendar years and discloses procedures, practices and programs NAU uses to keep students and employees safe including how to report crimes or other emergencies occurring on campus. In addition, the Fire Safety Report is combined with the Annual Security Report for the NAU Flagstaff Mountain Campus as this campus has on-campus student housing. This report discloses fire safety policies and procedures related to on-campus student housing and statistics for fires that occurred in those facilities.
