  • This position is an on-site position which requires the incumbent to complete their work primarily at an NAU site, campus, or facility with or without accommodation. Opportunities for remote work are rare.
  • Driving a vehicle on behalf of the university is anticipated to be a regular part of this position. Arizona Administrative Code Fleet Safety Policy requires all employees who drive on university business become authorized by submitting Driver’s license information for driving record monitoring, and completion of training appropriate to the level of driving performed. The law applies to all faculty, staff, and students who drive personal or university-owned motorized vehicles for any business purpose. University Printing Services delivers high-quality, brand-compliant printing solutions, including digital and offset printing and finishing, signage, installation services and custom project consultation. The department supports the university community with digital storefront ordering, direct mail coordination, and expert guidance on file preparation and branding standards. Its mission is to provide efficient, professional printing that enhances NAU’s communication and visual identity.


About the Position

The Printing Coordinator, Sr. oversees the operation and maintenance of the large-format printing equipment and production workflows. This role is responsible for producing, finishing, and installing large format products while ensuring quality standards and timely delivery. Key duties include fabricating products, managing equipment, coordinating vendor repairs, conducting site evaluations and installations, providing consultation on product options, and handling administrative tasks such as budgeting, inventory, and cost analysis. The position also involves training and delegating tasks to support staff, fostering collaboration across production areas, and maintaining compliance with university policies, including authorized driver requirements.

Responsibilities Include

65% - Operations

  • Manages large format printing operations, including equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Produces and finishes large format products, including fabrication, shipping prep, and installation, ensuring quality standards.
  • Reviews job tickets and oversees workflow to ensure timely, high-quality production.
  • Maintains tools, equipment logs, and coordinates vendor repairs. 

10% - Installation and Consultation Services

  • Conducts site evaluations, consults on product options, and performs or manages installations. 

10% - Administrative

  • Advises on job requirements, inventory, and budgets; prepares estimates and cost analyses; maintains tracking systems.
  • Processes purchase orders, reconciles transactions, and maintains fiscal responsibility. 

10% - Personnel & Collaboration

  • Trains and delegates tasks to support staff, assists with staff management, and ensures quality control while promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Collaborates with staff to cross-train in other production areas, ensuring seamless coverage of department’s essential duties when needed. 

5% - Other

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate bachelor’s degree.
  • 3 years of relevant experience.

*A combination of related education, experience, and training may be used as an equivalent to the above Minimum Qualifications.

  • Knowledge of printing, finishing, and installation services.
  • Knowledge of large format print production and the printing industry.

Compensation

  • Salary range is $44,422 to $54,000. Annual salary commensurate with candidate's qualifications and related experience.

Northern Arizona University requires satisfactory results for the following: a criminal background investigation, an employment history verification and a degree verification (in some cases) prior to employment. You may also be required to complete a fingerprint background check. Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire and Security Report

Each year Northern Arizona University releases an Annual Security Report. The report is a result of a federal law known as the Clery Act. The report includes Clery reportable crime statistics for the three most recent completed calendar years and discloses procedures, practices and programs NAU uses to keep students and employees safe including how to report crimes or other emergencies occurring on campus. In addition, the Fire Safety Report is combined with the Annual Security Report for the NAU Flagstaff Mountain Campus as this campus has on-campus student housing. This report discloses fire safety policies and procedures related to on-campus student housing and statistics for fires that occurred in those facilities.
