Disability Resources (DR) leads collaborations with students, faculty, staff, and the campus community to cultivate a universally designed environment, and facilitates the removal of existing barriers for the full inclusion of people with disabilities.
We ensure access through design, services and accommodations at no cost to all Northern Arizona University students and employees with disabilities.
About the Position
Accessibility Analyst, Intermediate
The Accessibility Analyst Intermediate position will help to implement accessibility programs for students or staff in order to provide equitable participation in programs (academic, co-curricular or employment), activities, benefits or services offered by the university. This position will help students and staff to access nondiscrimination and supportive accessible practices, to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. A large part of this position is consultation and collaborating with individuals regarding services offered. This position will report to the Manager of Affirmative Action in the Disability Resources department.
Compliance and Assessment – 80%
- Applies qualitative interviewing techniques to gather appropriate and relevant information about disability-related functional limitations, barriers, and access needs.
- Assists with interactive intake process with students making accommodation requests.
- Evaluates documentation of disability, when necessary, to determine eligibility.
- Synthesizes information gathered from the individualized process to determine disability status and establish individualized, reasonable accommodation plans.
- Reviews functional limitations in light of course and program standards, academic standards, and technical standards to determine if requested accommodations are necessary, reasonable and appropriate.
- Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Collaboration & Support – 10%
- Collaborates with faculty in the interactive process to ensure appropriate implementation of approved accommodations.
- Engages with faculty in the interactive process to address concerns regarding student accommodations.
- Engages with faculty in the interactive process to establish appropriate course specific accommodation plans for complex accommodation needs.
- Collaborates with accessibility analyst staff and department leadership on complex cases.
Consulting - 5%
- Provides consultation in promoting access and equity for persons with disabilities.
Other – 5%

Accessibility Analyst, Senior
The Accessibility Analyst, Senior works with students across a variety of documented disabilities to determine reasonable adjustments and services in academic, housing and other environments. This position will ensure institutional compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act as amended, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and other applicable laws. Will be responsible for assessing accommodations within the context of each program’s technical standards, curriculum, and clinical experiences. Including, engaging with students throughout the interactive eligibility process, identifying barriers, evaluating functional limitations, reviewing documentation, determining necessary accommodations, assisting faculty in implementing accommodations, providing on-going support to students with complicated accommodation needs, assisting students with technology-related needs, and serving as a liaison between students, faculty, staff, and external agencies.

- Provides leadership and consultation in promoting access and equity for persons with disabilities.
- Develops and presents training materials on complex disability and access information to campus partners.
Other -5%

Minimum Qualifications
Accessibility Analyst, Intermediate
- Requires a Master’s Degree in Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, Special education or related field.
- 1 year of relevant experience.
Accessibility Analyst, Senior
- Requires a Master’s Degree in Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, Special education or related field
- 3 years of relevant experience.
*A combination of related education, experience, and training may be used as an equivalent to the above Minimum Qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications

- Salary range begins at $58,882. Annual salary commensurate with candidate's qualifications and related experience.
Accessibility Analyst, Senior
- Salary range begins at $67,714. Annual salary commensurate with candidate's qualifications and related experience.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire and Security Report
Each year Northern Arizona University releases an Annual Security Report. The report is a result of a federal law known as the Clery Act. The report includes Clery reportable crime statistics for the three most recent completed calendar years and discloses procedures, practices and programs NAU uses to keep students and employees safe including how to report crimes or other emergencies occurring on campus. In addition, the Fire Safety Report is combined with the Annual Security Report for the NAU Flagstaff Mountain Campus as this campus has on-campus student housing. This report discloses fire safety policies and procedures related to on-campus student housing and statistics for fires that occurred in those facilities.
