• Driving a vehicle on behalf of the university is anticipated to be a regular part of this position. Arizona Administrative Code Fleet Safety Policy requires all employees who drive on university business become authorized by submitting Driver’s license information for driving record monitoring, and completion of training appropriate to the level of driving performed. The law applies to all faculty, staff, and students who drive personal or university-owned motorized vehicles for any business purpose. About the Position

The Practicum Coordinator position plays a crucial role in the College of Education by managing approximately 400 student practicum placements in Flagstaff and assisting with placements statewide before student teaching or internships. This position is responsible for cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with school districts and agencies, ensuring appropriate and meaningful practicum experiences for teacher candidates. Key duties include developing and maintaining MOAs with districts and health service organizations, overseeing the evaluation process for education students, and providing guidance and consistency in policy and procedural decision-making. The coordinator collaborates with P-12 schools to develop future practicum opportunities, stays informed on research related to instructional practices in pre-service field experiences, and partners with faculty to uphold program objectives. Additionally, they contribute to strategic discussions on staffing, budgeting, and collaborative initiatives that enhance the College of Education and elevate student success.

Responsibilities Include

45% - Program Management

• Coordinate/Manage College of Education Practicum
• Applies broad knowledge of concepts and procedures to perform complex tasks in the management of practicum including assessment and outreach.
• Acts as the main point of contact for all anchor leads to ensure practicum placements are made
• Updates, distributes, collects, and processes forms and documents related to the program, including the handbook, with support of the practicum committee
• Prepares reports as needed - (Essential)

35% - Communication/Data Collection

• Maintain and communicate data
• Serve as a point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and partners, providing information about the program.
• Manages and maintains records of program participants and program data, which may include inputting or updating data in a database.
• Manages affiliation agreements with partner schools and organizations - (Essential)

15% - Coordination and organization

• Acts as a program liaison to organize meetings and other practicum-related events. - (Essential)

5% - Other duties as assigned. - (Marginal)

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
• 3 - 5 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in education in a related field.
• 3 or more years of experience in classroom teaching or a related area, and/or experience in working with pre-service teachers and mentors in a classroom setting
• Two or more years of school administrative experience
• Experience supervising undergraduate students, in-service teachers, or other education staff

Compensation

Salary range begins at $51,085. Annual salary commensurate with candidate's qualifications and related experience.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire and Security Report

Each year Northern Arizona University releases an Annual Security Report. The report is a result of a federal law known as the Clery Act. The report includes Clery reportable crime statistics for the three most recent completed calendar years and discloses procedures, practices and programs NAU uses to keep students and employees safe including how to report crimes or other emergencies occurring on campus. In addition, the Fire Safety Report is combined with the Annual Security Report for the NAU Flagstaff Mountain Campus as this campus has on-campus student housing. This report discloses fire safety policies and procedures related to on-campus student housing and statistics for fires that occurred in those facilities.
