About the Position

In collaboration with the Campus Tours, Events and Family Engagement Team under the direction of the Assistant Director in Strategic Enrollment and Marketing, the individual in this position will manage, coordinate and support all phases of event planning for on and off campus student recruitment events to aid in enrollment. Recognizes areas for growth and improvement and direct actions to enhance these events and helps to supervise student employees. This position requires evening and weekend work as necessary and some travel.

Responsibilities Include

Event Planning and Logistics - 40%

  • Design and implement recruitment programming tailored for prospective students and families
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director on the planning and execution of all on- and off-campus recruitment events.
  • Manage and coordinate all event registration materials and logistics.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness, assess outcomes, develop improved programming, and complete cost analyses for all events.
  • Analyze event effectiveness, registration, and activity by utilizing data from systems such as Business Objects, PeopleSoft, and Salesforce.
  • Generate periodic, bi-monthly, and ad hoc reports related to event metrics, recruitment, enrollment projections, and travel.
  • Represent the department on various university committees and work groups.

University Collaboration – 25%

  • Represents the University, its missions, policies, and procedures to a broad range of constituents, in particular, those in other segments of the educational community, prospective students, prospective families, personnel in community based organizations, etc.
  • Stays apprised of, and current on, new enrollment management strategies, and best practices for communication to prospective students, their family members, and other important constituents to meet University enrollment goals. 
  • Work collaboratively with many campus partners.

Student Supervision - 20%

  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise student staff.
  • Coaches a group of ambassadors, supports the ambassadors with semesterly check-ins
  • True Blue Ambassador scheduling for events (on and off-campus)
  • Responsible for overseeing and updating event information in the True-Blue Ambassador Handbook 

Outreach and Communication - 10%

  • Respond to escalated issues and critical needs to maintain event control and execution.
  • Serve as a primary informational resource on events for campus partners, faculty, staff, prospective students, and external organizations.
  • Maintain collaborative communication with university partners for effective on- and off-campus recruitment event coordination and execution.
  • Disseminate event reports to the Assistant Director and Senior Director.
  • Liaise with campus partners to align events with prospective students' enrollment journey.
  • Represent the university professionally as the primary point of contact for recruitment events in both internal and external meetings.

Other - 5% 

  • Special projects and assignments within the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • 1 years of project management experience.
  • 2 years of relevant experience.

*A combination of related education, experience, and training may be used as an equivalent to the above Minimum Qualifications.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or PhD in related field.
  • Equivalent experience with business, education, government, or other related experience will be considered.

Knowledge

  • Expert knowledge of event planning tools, processes, and concepts.
  • Knowledge of processes for engaging and recording feedback from attendees.
  • Knowledge of admissions and enrollment management and higher education industry current events and best practices.
  • Equivalent experience with business, education, government, or other related experience will be considered.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Compensation

Salary range is $58,882 - $65,000. Annual salary commensurate with candidate's qualifications and related experience.


Pre-Employment Check

Northern Arizona University requires satisfactory results for the following: a criminal background investigation, an employment history verification and a degree verification (in some cases) prior to employment. You may also be required to complete a fingerprint background check. Also, as an employer in the state of Arizona, NAU is required to participate in the federal E-Verify program that assists employers with verifying new employees' right to work in the United States.

This position has been identified as a safety/security sensitive position. Therefore, per AZ Revised Statute, Northern Arizona University requires satisfactory results for the following: a criminal background investigation, employment history investigation, degree verification (in some cases) and fingerprinting. Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire and Security Report

Each year Northern Arizona University releases an Annual Security Report. The report is a result of a federal law known as the Clery Act. The report includes Clery reportable crime statistics for the three most recent completed calendar years and discloses procedures, practices and programs NAU uses to keep students and employees safe including how to report crimes or other emergencies occurring on campus. In addition, the Fire Safety Report is combined with the Annual Security Report for the NAU Flagstaff Mountain Campus as this campus has on-campus student housing. This report discloses fire safety policies and procedures related to on-campus student housing and statistics for fires that occurred in those facilities.
