Unions and Activities, reporting under Campus Services and Activities, strives to offer the finest services and amenities for the students and visitors of Northern Arizona University through providing access to a variety of student services, being a hub for student support departments. Unions and Activities serves as the central hub for campus engagement, overseeing and supporting a wide range of events and programs that enrich student life. The department manages operations for key campus venues, including the University Union, University Union Field House, duBois South Union, Prochnow Auditorium, and other event spaces across campus. Unions and Activities is also home to SUN Entertainment and Yellow Bike.
This position coordinates technical support and staffing for special events, meetings, and academic functions across campus facilities, including Prochnow Auditorium, Gammage event space, duBois Ballroom, University Union Field House, and other multipurpose areas. Responsibilities include managing event logistics, collaborating with campus partners and outside vendors, and ensuring successful execution of events. The role also oversees inspections and preventative maintenance for lighting, sound, and AV systems, working with NAU Facility Services, ITS, and contractors to schedule repairs and maintain functionality.
In addition, this position manages facility operations for key event spaces, ensuring compliance with safety and accessibility standards, overseeing inventory and procurement, and aligning operations with institutional goals. The role supervises and schedules student technical staff, supports evening and weekend events, and serves as a liaison for campus-wide programs such as Welcome Week and Homecoming. By providing reliable technical coordination and fostering strong campus partnerships, this position ensures high-quality event experiences and supports the mission of Unions and Student Activities.

Northern Arizona University requires satisfactory results for the following: a criminal background investigation, an employment history verification and a degree verification (in some cases) prior to employment. Each year Northern Arizona University releases an Annual Security Report. The report is a result of a federal law known as the Clery Act. The report includes Clery reportable crime statistics for the three most recent completed calendar years and discloses procedures, practices and programs NAU uses to keep students and employees safe including how to report crimes or other emergencies occurring on campus. In addition, the Fire Safety Report is combined with the Annual Security Report for the NAU Flagstaff Mountain Campus as this campus has on-campus student housing. This report discloses fire safety policies and procedures related to on-campus student housing and statistics for fires that occurred in those facilities.
